Coconut (D × T) refers to Dwarf × Tall hybrid coconut variety. It is developed by crossing Dwarf coconut (D) as the female parent with Tall coconut (T) as the male parent. This hybrid is popular for its early bearing, high yield, and good nut quality.The D × T coconut palm grows to a medium–tall height, making harvesting easier than tall varieties. It begins flowering in about 3–4 years, which is earlier compared to traditional tall coconuts. Under proper management, each palm can yield 100–150 nuts per year.The nuts are medium to large in size with high copra content and good oil recovery. The palms show better tolerance to pests and diseases and adapt well to different soil types.
